Coaches

Anyone can be a coach for MLIA Soccer. All coaches must be 18 or older and complete all the training and background checks required by MLIA. MLIA holds mandatory meetings for coaches to recieve training for Sexual Abuse and Preditore, as well as concussion training. We also require a background check that is done online. There is no charge for any training or background checks.

Practices and Games

Fall Session - Practices and home games are held at the MLIA field at 973 N. 6th St. here in Mascoutah. Practice times and day are determined by individual coaches. Games will be held on Saturdays and some Sundays as well as a weekday game to make the 10 game schedule. Out of town game addresses can be found on the Southwest Illinois Soccer website, http://teamsideline.com/swissoccer

MLIA asks that all parents and visitors please sit outside fence of field. There are bleachers on both sides of fields and you are more than welcome to bring chairs to sit in. Only coaches and assistant coaches are to be inside fence (on field) with the exception of a parent that is helping with kids on the bench during games.

Dogs at the field

MLIA asks that dogs not be brought out to the field area. This will help keep our game and spectator areas clean. It could also lead to the dogs getting excited about the balls and want to play as well and would cause issues on the field.

Age groups

Players that are 5 years old through middle school may register to play soccer with MLIA. The league we play in, Southwest Illinois Soccer, groups teams by grade, (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th grades). The league allows players to play up one grade and these are the rules we go by when rostering players.

Water bottles

Players should bring a water bottle for practices and games to keep hydrated. If bringing disposable water bottles please be sure dispose of them and pick up any trash and put in trash cans to help keep our field and surrounding area clean of litter.
